Welcome to My Parent Hood!

Empowering parents to have a positive & informed birth experience with education support and community for each stage of pregnancy, birth and early parenthood.

Based near Hull & The East Riding of Yorkshire.

Hi, I’m Grace!

As a practising NHS midwife and certified Hypnobirth instructor, my mission is to provide you with the education and support to create the best possible birthing experience, however you decide to birth your baby.

I created My Parent Hood because I saw parents fearing birth and feeling confused about their options. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

I'm here to empower you to have a positive and informed birth experience. Armed with the knowledge and facts you need, you can feel supported, heard and seen, to make informed choices for you and your baby.

What is My Parent Hood?

My Parent Hood is a community dedicated to revolutionising birth education and early parenting experiences. Pregnancy, birth and parenting are interconnected chapters of an incredible journey - I’m here to join up the dots for you.

The philosophy is simple: education, support and community are the pillars that shape a positive birth and parenting experience. I’m not just about delivering information, I’m about creating a welcoming space where every path to parenthood is acknowledged, embraced and respected.

In our hood, there's no judgement, no fluff - just a cool, inclusive community ready to welcome you.

As a midwife and a mum, I bridge the gap between the medical facts and the personal experience. My mission is to equip you with the tools, knowledge and education to empower a positive birth experience. I’ll navigate the complex world of birthing services with you, helping you understand the evidence behind every choice and empowering you to make informed decisions.

With My Parent Hood, you're not alone.

Join our network of parents - a supportive hood where you can access the information & support you need.

  • "Grace discussed all methods of feeding and wasn't too pushy towards 'breast is best' which I felt was good (as have heard some midwifes can be very pushy in the hospital). She did of course explain all the proven benefits of it and I have ended up breast feeding. But all women should do whats right for them and their baby 💪and I like Graces openness to this. So in a nut shell I'd highly recommed Graces classes for any Mummies to be! And dont be shy if you want to take your mum as your birth partner. Everyone made us feel so welcome!"

  • “'Empowered' is the word that comes to mind after going to Grace's classes. Both for me and for my husband. The course is very well thought-through and caters for everyone. Grace doesn't advocate one way of doing things or the other, she is non-judgmental and I believe that without her, we wouldn't have been able to confidently navigate the birth prep, labour and also the first days with baby (feeding, sleeping, etc.). I 100% recommend My Parent Hood classes.”

  • "We were all set for a normal birth with our baby, however, had to have an induction followed by an Emergency C-section. I know when many people hear of Emergency C-Sections and inductions they panic however it was such a positive experience all in all with the most wonderful reward at the end of it. My husband and I both said after that we felt so calm and even prepared as we already had knowledge about what was going to happen thanks to Grace and the course. I would 100% recommend Grace and the My Parent Hood antenatal class to anyone who is having a baby. It’s ace and we are so pleased we did it.”"

Hannah, group course member, March 2023

  • “I cannot recommend the individual birth planning session enough. I wanted a space to think about my options and time to understand and weigh up the pros/cons of different interventions relating to my specific needs. I found Grace to be compassionate, caring and non-judgemental around my wishes. I left the session feeling informed and empowered about my birth preferences, but also confident that if things changed (as birth can be unpredictable!) I would cope.”
